Life's intricate design encompasses a vital network, the cardiovascular system, unseen yet essential. With each heartbeat, nutrient-rich blood flows through these pathways, nourishing every cell, tissue, and organ. At Heart and Vascular Superspeciality Hospitals, we find our purpose within this complex system.
We understand the importance of cardiovascular health and the impact these conditions can have on individuals and their families. That is why we have dedicated ourselves to becoming a focused facility, providing treatment for the entire spectrum of cardiac and vascular conditions under one roof.

"Large institutions have established frameworks that are difficult to modify for new therapies. Through HVS I aim to elevate Interventional Radiology to a core specialty status, not merely a supportive role. Proper education and efforts can revolutionize treatment approaches. “HVS strives to showcase Interventional Radiology techniques as a model for others to emulate.“
- Dr. Bhavesh Arun Popat

"I observed that accessible medical care is hindered by the belief that super-specialties require large hospitals. I aimed to challenge this notion. With advanced technology, we can offer specialized care in smaller setups. While larger facilities have benefits, they are not essential for smaller districts. With HVS, we strive to introduce medical advancements in Mumbai.“

A landmark moment at HVS Symbiosis as we hosted a TAVI case with the legendary Dr. John Webb, a pioneer in structural heart interventions.
Dr. Webb shared insights from his 20+ years of experience, a journey filled with groundbreaking innovations and global “firsts” in transcatheter valve therapies. His presence brought invaluable learning for our team and reaffirmed HVS’s commitment to advancing minimally invasive heart care in India.
We were also privileged to have Professor Buriji from Algeria join us, adding an international perspective to the workshop and fostering global collaboration in heart valve therapies.
At HVS, we continue to shape the future of cardiovascular care – one innovation at a time.

Dr. Ziad Ali, is one of the top cardiologists, holding a wonderful reputation worldwide. We at HVS Symbiosis Hospitals are proud to welcome him. Here are a few glimpses of Dr. Ankur Phararpekar (Director at HVS Symbiosis Hospitals) welcoming Dr. Ziad Ali.
Dr. Ziad Ali is the Director of the DeMatteis Cardiovascular Institute, Director of Investigational Interventional Cardiology, and Director of the Cardio-renal Program at St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center in New York.
Dr. Ali’s research interests focus on the use of advanced imaging and physiology technologies to optimize stent implantation, with a particular interest in how these modalities protect patients from kidney injury by sparing or eliminating the need for contrast.
Dr. Ali serves on the Editorial boards of three major cardiovascular journals and conducts peer reviews regularly for over 20 journals. Dr. Ali also writes the curriculum for the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Ali has been and is the Global Principal Investigator of multiple multicenter randomized trials.
Dr. Ali developed the Resting Full-Cycle Ratio (RFR) (Abbott, Santa Clara, CA), a technology that allows interventional cardiologists to determine whether heart artery blockages warrant treatment with stents or are better served with conservative management.
Dr. Ali was instrumental in the development of intravascular lithotripsy (Shockwave Medical, Santa Clara, CA), a technology that uses the age-old technique of breaking kidney stones with electrical energy, to allow treatment of calcium buildup in the heart arteries.
Dr. Ali developed pioneering techniques to perform coronary angiography with less than a tablespoon of contrast (≈10mL) (ultra-low contrast angiography), protecting patients with advanced kidney disease from the contrast associated with acute kidney injury and the potential need for dialysis.
By using his expertise in intravascular imaging and physiology, Dr. Ali established the techniques to perform vascular interventions, including arterial stent placement, completely free of contrast administration.

He is a well-known interventional cardiologist with a specialization in high-resolution intravascular imaging, acute myocardial infarction, and stents. He is also a member of the European Society of Cardiology.
Dr. Guagliumi has published 275 peer-reviewed papers in cardiovascular research and clinical trials in major cardiology journals.
We at HVS Symbiosis Hospitals are proud to welcome the Italian Cardiology pioneer, Dr. Guagliumi was given a warm welcome by our director of the cath lab, Dr. Ankur Phatarpekar.
Dr. Guagliumi also partnered on an OCT angioplasty with our Cath Lab team members and doctors.

Dr. Ankur Phatarpekar & entire team of HVS Symbiosis Hospitals welcome the leading cardiologist of Japan, Dr. Takashi Akasaka with honor.
Dr. Akasaka graduated from Wakayama Medical University in 1982 and finished his residency at Kobe City Medical Center General Hospital (KCGH).
He had been a clinical fellow at Harefield Hospital in the United Kingdom in 1987. From 1989, he did clinical research work in coronary physiology using coronary flow velocity and pressure extensively at KCGH as a director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory for 8 years.
After he moved to Kawasaki Medical University as an associate professor, he started OCT for 5 years. And then, he became a Professor at Wakayama Medical University in 2005 and has been devoted to clinical research work using OCT and coronary physiology. He has published many papers regarding coronary imaging using OCT in addition to coronary physiology research.
Based on his clinical and research work, he has been the executive board member in various cardiology societies and the course co-directors of several coronary live-demonstration courses around the world.
We at HVS Symbiosis Hospitals are proud to have welcomed this great name in the field of interventional cardiology with honor & dignity.

At HVS Symbiosis, history was created with a groundbreaking cardiac procedure that has set a new benchmark in India’s healthcare journey.
A 78-year old gentleman, struggling with only 25% heart function, severe blockages in his coronary arteries, and a leaking mitral valve, faced an extremely high risk for conventional open-heart surgery. His condition was critical, and conventional treatment options offered little hope. In a first-of-its-kind approach in India, our expert team of interventional cardiologists executed a carefully planned two-step, minimally invasive treatment:
1. Coronary Stenting – Life-saving stents were placed to open his severely blocked arteries and restore blood flow.
2. MyCLIP TEER Procedure – Using the innovative MyCLIP Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (TEER) technology, the leaking mitral valve was sealed without the need for open-heart surgery.
This pioneering treatment offers a ray of hope to countless patients who are too frail for conventional valve surgery. Within days of the procedure, the patient experienced remarkable recovery – breathing freely, regaining strength and reclaiming his quality of life.
At HVS Hospitals, this milestone reflects our commitment to bringing the world’s most advanced cardiac solutions to India. The successful integration of cutting-edge stent therapy with MyCLIP TEER showcases what modern medicine can achieve – extending life, improving outcomes and giving patients a chance at renewed health.

We are proud to share a remarkable advancement in our commitment to advanced cardiac care — the first successful Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) procedure has been performed at HVS Hospitals, Ghatkopar.
